“The goal of Positive Behavior Support is not ‘perfect children.’ Rather the goal should be creating the perfect environment for enhancing their growth.”

What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. PBIS is a school-wide framework for encouraging positive behavior at school. With PBIS, students learn about behavior, just as they would with other subjects like math or science. The key to PBIS is prevention - not punishment.

What you can do at home:
- Talk about how the school day went with your kids. Did everyone demonstrate Eagle-like SOAR behavior across the school day today?
- Give your children specific, positive, feedback. “Good job completing your reading independently tonight!”
- Communicate with the teacher if there are questions, suggestions, or concerns
- Consider creating a behavior matrix for home!
- Volunteer to help run your child’s grade-level student store. Ask your child’s teacher for more information.
